What is RefWorks?
RefWorks is a free (to the NYU community) Web-based program you can use to organize your research. Enter citations as you work, import references retrieved from online bibliographic databases into your RefWorks database and create bibliographies in a variety of formats. Your RefWorks bibliographies are stored on the RefWorks server and are available from any computer with Internet access.
What you can do with RefWorks
- Create & organize your own personal database of references
- Search your RefWorks database
- Format bibliographies according to chosen style (MLA, APA, etc.)
- Import references from a variety of catalogs & databases
- Share your RefWorks database with users inside and outside of NYU
New RefWorks interface (RefWorks 2.0) is here!
As of May 24, users now have the option to access the new interface. Here's how:
- Once logged in, select the RefWorks 2.0 link in the upper right hand of your RefWorks account.
- RefWorks will remember what interface you selected upon exiting the program and load that interface moving forward.
Over the summer, NYU Libraries will be switching to the new and improved RefWorks 2.0 interface.. To learn more about RefWorks 2.0 (including a timeline for migrating to the new interface) click on the New RefWorks Interface tab above.
